Patchbay

Since i purchased a MIDI patchbay, i've been having a rebirth of sorts in music making. I'm reminded of my days in high school where i would pump out beat tapes solely using an MPC 2000. The patchbay has allowed me to finally take full advantage of my full studio. If you have a lot of gear like me, you gotta have a patchbay that gives you control of at least 8 instruments. I had been syncing some of my instruments via the Protools 002 interface and others via a cheapy 2x2 midi interface. Don't do that. It's stupid. You will encounter phase issues which will effect the volume and clarity of your entire mix. I've never a forum that has addressed this but for me, it was huge. It changed everything. Besides the clarity, i can now effect instruments on the fly and manipulate the loops in real time. It makes a difference. Trust me, whether you realize it or not, you can feel the difference between a track that was made via copy and pasting vs a track that was done through manipulation of instruments live. peep it
